Mitsu in Brunei!

20 09 2009

This picture was taken when we were bringing Mitsu, our very good friend from Japan (JLY volunteer during the ASEAN Youth Leaders’ Summit) around the popular tourist sights in Bandar Seri Begawan. Unlike most of our PY friends from SSEAYP, this is Mitsu’s first time in Brunei! Fun fun!

He stayed here until the first day of hari raya! :D

;)

In Town: Denz PPY08!

13 06 2009

But for one night only, one night only~! So we met tonight at Farmbasket, Kiulap after watching a movie (I believe they watched Terminator).

Her next stop is KK, (Or did she came from KK? I can’t remember!) with her friend. :) So glad to meet you Denz even for only 1 night. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had fun darling! One of our BPYs sure did. :P

He came and went: Teppy JPY

16 03 2009

Teppy newly arrived joined us during the BJFA event.

After the BJFA event, we went to CoffeeZone in Kiulap to catch up. Almost all
of our darling BPYs were there to meet Teppy.

A tired Teppy. He stayed over at his host family during SSEAYP Homestay Program in Brunei. :)

The next day, we had lunch at Nyonya and Teppy went to Kampong Ayer!!!

Mini Nippon Maru in Brunei Bay. Photo by Rinah.

This was at the airport the next day, going by AirAsia to Bangkok for a volunteer program. Have fun Teppy! We´re happy you stopped by Brunei!

Semoga kebaikan mu di balas dengan kebaikan yang berkali ganda.

All photos taken by Tne unless stated otherwise. More on Facebook albums. :)

“This ain’t a song for the broken hearted” – Bye Chris! (for now) :P

1 03 2009

At about 12.30am last night (1/03/09), the usually eerily quiet Berakas International Airport became a noisy hangout spot** as the BPYs (particularly SG Lepak) finally bid farewell to dearest Chris PPY08.

We will miss you baby! But we know we’ll definitely be seeing more of you soon. Chris will be coming back for more events – maybe even lifechanging ones. :)

Till then, send our love to the much missed PPY08s!

** By the way, more pictures on Maurina’s Facebook.

Upacara Menurunkan Bendera 2009

26 02 2009

Everything that goes up, must eventually come down.

And so the giant flag was lowered in the nation’s capital today after feeling the shine, wind and rain since the Flag Raising Ceremony a few weeks back.

You know what to do, click on the image to view album! :)

You know what to do, click on the image to view album and check out the new BPY who came along. ;)

The Royal Brunei Navy was there like last time, and the BPYs attended this time, not just for ambience, haha, but as actual guests, though still holding roles that are strictly ornamental. Good thing we all looked sexy and sleek in our Attire B Free (Blue).

No BPY Event could end without a lepak session. We hung out at a new location which is Seri Kiantan in Gadong and boy did we make a scene. Haha. BPY andangnya riuh! So sad that I had to leave early for work. Till next time BPYs!

Brunei’s Silver Jubilee National Day

23 02 2009

We love this country to the core of our beings and we pledge to bring it towards betterment until our very last breath.

On behalf of BPY 2008, I would like to wish Brunei 25 more glorious years ahead filled with blessings and prosperity.

Amin amin ya rabbal al amin.

Mamul is somewhere in this picture. He was chosen as one of the National Day Pledge Readers and I think they all did a great job!

Mamul is somewhere in this picture, unfortunately blocked by the primary pledge reader (pembaca ikrar). :) He was chosen as one of the National Day Pledge Readers and I think they all did a great job! The pledge readers are members from various government and non-government organizations in Brunei. Don't recognise anyone else in here except maybe the lady on the right, Liyana Latiff, from the extraordinary Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council*. Do click on the image to view more pictures.

Here is Chris PPY participating in this years National Day march. Hehehe. Great job Chris. You look Bruneian already in that shade of erm... green.

Also making the BPYs proud is Nasron who was the leader for the KHEDN contingent. You can also see Shafie BPY07** looking dashing on the left! More pictures on Chris's Facebook. :)

In Town: Chris the Crab Conqueror

21 02 2009

As you probably have deduced from the last Abbey Road post, Chris PPY IS in town! To celebrate his presence (eseh), last night, the BPYs went all frivolous and splurged on a big fat seafood dinner in a Paradise of Seafood goodness! I loved that almost EVERYONE was there.

Even the elusive SGJIL (SG Jarang Ikut Lepak): Najla, Adz & Nasron who have been mercilessly busy as of late were all there! We have photographic evidence in the album!

Warning: Please advise caution when perusing through the photos before mealtimes. Delicious food ahead!

I think Chris will be in for some pretty memorable times. Apparently he will be participating in Brunei’s Silver Jubilee National Day March. Can’t wait to see that!

Abbey Road to Jalan Maulana (Haha)

21 02 2009

I love the Beatles! Hehehe. Here is an alternate cover of one of their most famous albums, Abbey Road. The iconic photo was taken at Abbey Road in the UK, right in front of their recording studio. There is a webcam of the place if you’re so interested. Hehehe.

Yesterday I’ve somehow connedconvinced some BPYs to do an imitation of this cover shot. Huhuhu!

And now, here is Lisa, Erah, G-Zul, Rinah and Nurul BPY08 featuring Chris PPY08 from Abbey Road to the miniature version of Jalan Maulana!

:) :)

Wandy MaPY stares in horror as Maurina and Fared pretends to destroy his AirAsia boarding pass: Click on image to view the whole album

Seems like so many PYs are on a travelling frenzy. Wandy MaPY had a little visit to Brunei over the weekend and we were only too glad to be host him! Hehe. All 8 of us! Here are the pictures from his “Farewell Ceremony”.

It was not a tearful goodbye thankfully although I did spot some pearls in Wandy’s eyes. Hehehe. Till next time Wandy. :) Send the rest of the MaPys our love!
